New board member joins YesRef!

The YesRef board of directors, welcome Andy Stalsberg as digital payments expert to the board!

Originally an Oregon native from the US west coast, Andy made his way to England in 1989 following his graduation from Lewis and Clark College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing. It was quite a leap of faith at such an early age but it was this desire to explore, learn about business and see what the world had to offer which ultimately led to his entrepreneurial approach and positive outlook.

This started with his first business which operated promotional campaigns to the leisure sector boosting membership sign-up for over 600 clubs across the UK covering an 18 year period. Evolving out of this business, Andy saw the need to collect monthly payments more efficiently as most businesses still used outdated legacy systems. Eazy Collect Services was founded in 2002 where it became a leading BACS Approved Bureau and FCA regulated Payment Service Provider before being acquired in 2019 by The Access Group, a leading SaaS provider to SME’s with over 40,000 customers.

Bringing Andy onto the Board will give us the payment expertise to deliver our goal of providing the only sports officiating application which also processes payments via real time Open Banking rails.

Andy commented “Seeing Ben and Olly as young entrepreneurs with the enthusiasm and drive reminded me of the early days! The YesRef app offers up the fintech solution that could quickly disrupt this space globally as payment processing shifts to bank to bank payments and eliminates the use of expensive and fraud prone credit card processing and other inherently manual processes. Playing and watching sports has always been in my DNA and I saw this as a tremendous opportunity to keep that passion alive. Equally, being able to offer my own assistance and insight as part of a deeply experienced team using the latest payment technology with a breakthrough product seemed really the perfect fit.”

Olly, Chief Executive of YesRef said "We're delighted to welcome Andy to the YesRef team. Andy brings a wealth of experience and expertise in Fintech that will be invaluable for us as we continue to grow and scale in this exciting market. With Andy's support and our shared passion for sport and technology, we are excited to bring our game changing solution to more customers, making finding and paying referees easier than ever before."
